About Us

The New Era Foundation (NEF) a Non-Governmental Organisation was formally launched on March 21, 2000 and it is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria.
The Foundation has Chief (Mrs.) Oluremi Tinubu as President, with very eminent personalities as members of the Governing Council.  The New Era Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisational Organisation and Non-Political Organisation at inception planned among other things to provide youth development centers, organise intellectual, mental and physical competitions to encourage the youths to inculcate the habit of culture of healthy rivalry for better academic and social performance.

Mission

New Era Foundation is a Non-Governmental and Non-Political Charity Organisation that contributes to the meaningful development of women, children and youths though the combine efforts of spirited individuals, organisations and dedicated staff.
Objectives of the Foundation are as follows:

  • Promotion of public awareness on environmental health and protection.
  • Sensitizing the people to the importance of volunteering and community service in nation building.
  • Encouraging societal achievers to willingly act as role models and contributors to the development of our young ones.
  • Establishing of resident camp to cater for students during vacation by inculcating in them the spirit of teamwork and learning various vocational and sporting activities.
  • To provide youth development centers and
  • Organising intellectual, mental and physical competition to ginger the young ones into the habit and culture of healthy rivalry for better performance.

History

One of the Foundation’s success stories since its establishment in 2000 is the annual Spelling Bee competition, which star attraction for the overall winner is the opportunity to be ‘Governor for One Day’. To date the Foundation through the Spelling Bee Competition has produced nine winners who were One Day Governors since the commencement of the competition in 2001. The Foundation has also initiated various programmes including the Maggi Junior Chef Competition, the 30-hours Compulsory Community Service in Public Schools, Advocacy Campaigns on HIV/AIDS to Artisans, Market Women, Mechanics and Drivers in Lagos State, amongst others with the overriding objectives of encouraging the wholesome development of the youth and women for a better and brighter future.
New Era Foundation was formally launched on March 21, 2000 a project of Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Oluremi Tinubu, President of the Foundation.  As a Non-Governmental Organisation NEF has been committed to voluntary social services through the various programmes that are geared towards youth and women development, God has blessed the Foundation in all ramifications as it has continued to grow from strength to strength in the implementation of its programmes which continues to impact positively on many lives.
